Our Global Reach

China

Chinese focus on education is increasing, yet it remains exam-oriented, especially in middle and high school. Classrooms are teacher-centered, emphasizing lectures and rote memorization. Students excel in exams, culminating in the gaokao for college placement. However, they may struggle with interactive learning and critical thinking in American classrooms, despite their eagerness to succeed.

Brazil

Many Brazilian students prefer to study in the U.S. for a semester or a year, rarely staying more than two years. They typically come for 11th and/or 12th grade. Unlike U.S. students, Brazilians have less homework, usually just a few hours weekly, leading to an adjustment period in American schools. Brazil's education focuses on test-taking, using a 0-10 grading scale where 5 is passing. Students should know MEC's requirements for equivalency to avoid repeating a year in Brazil. They need at least five subjects, including English, History or Geography, Sports, Mathematics, and a Science. Brazilian students are independent, outgoing, and enjoy exploring new cultures.

Vietnam

Vietnam is a rapidly growing market for international students in the U.S. Since 1992, its education system has expanded. High school lasts from grades 10 to 12, focusing on math, science, and literature, with few electives. There are no AP courses, making U.S. study appealing. Students must take the same courses and seek private tutoring for specialization, often studying until 9:00 p.m. They must pass a comprehensive exam to enter universities, colleges, or vocational schools, with public schools requiring higher scores.
